Sleep In

My son must be getting ready to do a grow. Any taller and the baby gates will be no obstacle. George is asleep and it is 7:50 in the morning. Both Nick and I are up and enjoying our coffee.

The last time we had a quiet morning together with just us was two years ago. Who knows when the next morning will be? Probably in twelve years when we have teenagers.

I look at my child on the monitor and George sleeps like I do. Arms tucked under chin and face turned to one side, belly down. This way you can kick your feet to wake up your legs nice and slow. George curled into the fetal position to stretch his back moments before his father entered the bedroom. I stretch the same way before waking up.
